Couple of lovely shots through mid wicket mate.

Is that your original bat mate that you have had for a few years still going strong?

It would be fascinating to see the lid cam of your mate. Seeing the 2 vids was very inspirational for where I have been having challenges.

You look like a very stable platform, your head is staying pretty still, you are hitting inside out which gives good control and seems to stem from a dominant top hand.

You mate seems to move his head a lot, is hitting outside in and hence getting lift on the all and missing straight ones.

I wish I was that tall, but I also think he should hold the bat far nearer the top of the handle. That would make the best use of his long levers! And might help his dominant bottom hand

I'm doing what your mate is and seeing the 2 vids just proved it too me.... I have to find a net, the machine and a camera!

Reading my post back it's more a critique on what I now know I'm doing so I hope you don't mind.

A real coach will be along soon to offer some  meaningful feedback

Really appreciate you sharing

Some great stuff there Dean, you obviously drive well and being a similar build to me look like you can give the ball a fair tonk ;)

Is it just me, or is your stance closed off - just looking at your feet position and it appears so on the video. That may explain why leg side shots cause you to rotate your whole body a lot. Be interesting to see you bat against in-swing or someone bowling round the wicket swinging away.

Keep it up :)

Exactly my first thoughts too.  Open up ever so slightly and you'll open up all shots and fall over your front foot less.  Obviously, do what suits though!  :-[

Did Dean or Steve ask for this "coaching"/"advice" on how to bat?

Nope - but if you post a video on here, you're going to get it! :)

Dean is a very fine player indeed - but even superstars can benefit from a bit of constructive criticism sometimes (apart from me - I am beyond criticism!).

I didn't offer any coaching/advice Kez, my comments were simply an observation, and like I said dean looks a great bat.
