This bat has been in the hiding since March, somehow didn't get time to upload the pics and later was just lazy but now I am correcting my mistake. This is the same "Chad" profile which Chad had put up a while back. When I saw that bat for the first time I knew I need to own it, contacted Anthony@Laver, showed I am interested in this profile discussed with James if the profile would suit my game to which he said it's hard to go wrong with that profile. I shared a few other bits & pieces like which toes guard/grip type & colour/sticker (yes I am a bit choosy), oval handle, my preferred weight around 2.11 Lb (with a good pickup) and bat that would play from the word go. Due to lack of funds I opted for Butterfly grade (which was flavour of the season). So a month later I received my bat in India and was delighted to see that it was a special reserve non butterfly with an Oval C-10 handle (which I so much wanted to try) and around 6 fairly straight grains. It was pressed beautifully neither too soft nor too hard, well rounded edges, could be taken straight to throwdowns. Not to mention that lovely smell of fresh Lavers and that superb finishing. This is a lovely piece of willow, looks so beautiful, has that feel/look that it'll play well and picks up beautifully. I feel the weight of the bat to be around 2.11.5 - 2.12 (I usually don't weigh my bats) and pickups something like a 2.10-2.10.5 (similar to my preference). Profile wise the playing area is huge and has a very thick toe (as per my request as I like to dig out yorkers) thick oval handle and with minimal concaving. From service point of view it was great service (as is expected from L&W) and overall a very good experience.

Specs -

1) Weight - around 2.11.5 (as requested)
2) Handle - Oval C-10
3) Profile - Chad minimally concaved profile
4) Edges - 35 mm
5) Ping - Really good
6) Grains - around 6 straightish ones
7) Finish - excellent "Laver" finish
Pressing - Optimally pressed
9) Pickup - I would say around 2.10.5, really good pickup

The toe area is slightly more concaved than the middle and later it concaves again at the shoulders.

I do not have bat with me atm so cannot give you the measurements but from the memory that toe is really thick, peak of toe should be around 28-30 mm easily. Overall I would say more than 25mm.

    Due to the honeycomb structure at the top of the handle it is reasonably rigid so performance is increased (similar to the CarboCane offering) but it is not so stiff that it feels strange in the hands.
    The other main benefit is that the clear resin used to infuse and secure the honeycomb is heavier than the cane it replaces. This brings the balance point of the bat further up the blade towards the hands and therefore makes it feel lighter.

Good spot John, looks like a damage of some sort, hope its not!! Great looking bat Amrit. How do you find the handle feel compared to other/traditional handles.

No damage at all, Nothing serious, that just a miniscule mark which came up looking big somehow in the pic. It's like a mark left while stamping the shoulders but no damage.

No damage Tushar just small rough area on the shoulder. To be very honest I didn't find the handle too different, it's very similar to the feel I got with the SCat I had, but the Scat handle is thicker, this is much more my preferred size. I would say it is slightly stiffer than the Indian bat handles but just feel good in hands. I haven't played a lot with it just a short throwdown so I cannot comment a lot on it's transferring the energy into the shot thing. The balance of that bat is supreme, for the weight it has lot of wood everywhere and very comfortable to pickup. I certainly want to net with and feel how it goes, will take a few weeks untill it reaches me.

Thanks mates. Parth INR is a good question, costed me CAD 360 so around INR 20K at that time.
