The one who has Waqar Ahmed in their 2s...

I feel sorry for the kid I teach who told me. He said it costs his family upwards of £2k a year to be playing members there.

I wouldn't pay 2k a year to join a good golf club, let a lone a cricket club...
I wouldn't pay £2,000 to join the club, that's like half a season's worth of kit!  :-[

Not sure where Waqar is playing, I'll have to ask Ian or Pistol on that one. 2k is a rip off and I would be asking big questions at an agm if we had two paid pro's and I was forking out £220 subs.

2 Pros, 2 grand a season and still not guaranteed a game. Buy a season ticket to watch county cricket, it's cheaper, you get to see 22 pros and you still don't get to play

£10 per game, (£5 for students) subs of £50.  I think that's fair, however some players from other teams balk at the sums... :(

We do have a few "curry nights" which are funds for the club. Also have a mini bar whic again are funds for the club...

We play on council owned ground, but facilities aren't all that. We would like to do more to the ground but the council have said no!

Previous club was 12.50 a game and 175 a year compulsory membership, current club 3 per game and 60 a year membership.

We're 60 quid membership which includes a national trust card as we are based in a park plus from 2015 season a tenner a game (bear in mind at an away game with umpire, teas and chucking some money at our scorer it costs £88 which we previous broke even excluding a ball etc).

Friendly / social cricket at a pretty ordinary standard so £30 subs and £5 match fees.

Mind you the local parish council has extended the pavilion to suit the latest FA dictate of having completely separate changing rooms for the single lady football referee who turns up 2 or 3 times a season. Cost £120 k plus, started in March and still not finished. We missed out on the whole season and are now being told there will be a 50-100% increase in our pitch hire / rental fees.

Due to the works not being completed by September 1st the Football team has moved to the next Borough as it must have changing rooms for all games.

You could not make it up.  >:(

£200 membership and £10 match fees (£5 for a sunday if you played on Saturday).

We have electronic scoreboard, 2 outdoor nets, changing room with showers and sauna.

Our club is also a tennis and squash club (hence the higher memebrship as you join the whole club and not just cricket) so you get use of 3 floodlit tennis courts and 3 squash courts. The bar is fully staffed and open 363 days a year from 4pm - 11 weekdays and midday to midnight on a weekend.

We have playing subs of £24, subscription the social club where our ground is is £26. £8 a game match fees. Based on 15 games I make that £170. We don't have any covers and our pavilion is pretty basic, no showers which is irritating, but I'd suggest £170 is very reasonable. I have been at clubs before when the student subscription was nearly as much as that.

Part of the original reason for the topic was that our club charge only £30 subs and £6 match fees. We have, wait for it:-

Modern Pavilion with showers, private ground, sightscreens, artificial net, mobile net and a groundsman who spends 10-15 hours a week for no charge - all in a lovely village setting.

To me the only thing missing is covers and a bit of maintanence. However, sometimes making people appreciate that they are effectively underpaying for a facility that could be even better with funding is difficult. The above poll says to me that nearly 75% of clubs pay more than us, often with worse facilities. Those that pay the same have a benefactor or some level of sponsorship/fundraising to support the facilities.

We are changing ours to £360 all in standing order £30 a month all year round covers membership and as many games as you want to play. In London at my last club £160 for pitch £90+vat teas £50 Umpire about £15 a match for league balls League registration £350 annual Insurance £340 annual. All adds up then the superstar players still try and bugger off after the match without paying and don't want to pay membership. If they don't want to pay they can bugger off and play their family games on a Sunday in the Park. But instead they winge to the ECB about how they have no facilities. And how unfair it is.

Would be interesting to know the locations of these clubs, just wondering if the London based ones skew things
