Is this repairable, if so how?

Tempted by this at £35 posted but I want to know how to go about a repair before I buy.

Any tips?

Sand it round, glue the top bit if cracking and tape it up.

Square off the area where the piece is missing using a sharp chisel. Chisel across the grain first. Flatten off the bottom of the repair with a chisel. Basically make it a perfect rectangle (quite easy in a soft timber like willow).
Find an old bat with a similar grain structure and cut off a piece slightly larger than the missing piece. Glue on, clamp and leave for a day. Remove clamps and sand flush. Wait a few days oil and tape up.
I had a similar repair to do on an old GN. It's still going strong. If you have a few basic tools, a little skill and some patience it is quite easy. I saw this bat myself but I find SS handles too small and I don't like adding more grips. Should be a good buy.

As tempting as your offer it it will probably end up on eBay the rate you go through bats haha!

Sand the area where it's broken till it blends in to the missing bit then glue with undiluted PVA and  wrap with
One inch wide fibreglass tape when dry.

This has come in handy, i have a bat that looks exactly the same and i didnt know what to do with it, will follow the advice on here and give it a crack

Evening all,

I was a little cheeky with this. When I saw Cam didn't buy it, I put in a cheeky bid and it was accepted.

I have completed what I consider to be a 'reasonable' refurbishment for me. Unfortunately, I did not have any matching willow, only some from a semi-new broken bat which I could use some G1 willow from.

Has been fixed, sanded, polished, oiled, restickered, shoe goo'ed, helicopter sheeted and taped! It should definitely last!

Was fun to do - looking for the next one now... Enjoy!
