Weight reduction service
« on: December 05, 2014, 09:34:07 AM »

Good Morning,

I have a bat that I would like to have a few ounces removed from (3 ozs if possible). Does anyone have any recommendations on someone who carries out weight reduction services? I'm based in Suffolk.

Many thanks

Is Vulkan/choice not to far from there?

FYI 3oz is a lot of wood to take out of a bat - you might get 1oz out, then have to strip off the stickers, change the grip etc to lighten it up more.

I would go yourself rather than outsourse, even if it it just for the experience!

Absolutely understand the 3ozs is a 'big' ask. Sadly I've already stripped the stickers off. Should have bought a lighter bat...would have solved the issue  :)

Hunts County is a good option or go to the gym more often.

Thanks for the comments.

whats the current weight of the bat and approx. dimensions/ profile? as has already been said 3oz is a lot. it could be possible depending on the bats current state or maybe a couple of ounces and a slight rebalance would help. how does It pick up?

The bat is brand new, just unbranded. A couple of ounces taken off and a rebalance would help a great deal. The pick up isn't great, it picks up very heavy.

How much heavier is it than your ideal weight? The right amount of wood taken off in the right areas could mean you don't need as much taken off. John @ Red Ink has an exceptional perception of balance from experience, and is priced reasonably, so wouldn't be a bad shout. :)
