Lowlights of 2014
« on: December 19, 2014, 01:54:06 PM »

Can be anything, but England will probably feature strongly on this thread.

Getting stuffed out of sight in the ashes.
Worst ODI record I can remember.
Losing KP  :(
More importantly, and sadly, Phil Hughes.

State of west indies cricket

the state of Cricket administration generally

Spot fixing/match fixing.

over doctoring pitches (and then not bowling to them England)

The shambles of the England 2020 competition.

mankading - more for the fact that all my U11s team that I coached proceeded to copy it for the remainder of the summer.

Top 3 totally agree with. I personally welcome a bit of pitch doctoring. Aren't English wickets supposed to be a bit green, Indian decks turn and Aussie decks bounce? England were a disagrace in not bowling India out for nothing at lords.

I was happy with the new Friday night format. Initial reactions and attendences were good but it died away. Worth a try though.

Not happy we still have 18 teams in it. Leics were terrible and it can't be much fun going to Grace Road. Needs a BBL revamp, think of Glasgow v Leeds or Manchester v London. A lot of wealthy cricket lovers in the Thames Valley get to see no cricket thanks to 100 year old boundaries. No reason why the profits can't go back into the County Boards.

Phil Hughes passing away.
The way the whole cricket family were united in mourning was a touching tribute under tragic circumstances.
