So first of all RIP to the woodworm wheelie.
It really has been a great bag and considering i haven't really played much in the last 4/5 years its done a great job of keeping all my kit in one place and moving it each time we have moved house. It probably had another season or 2 in it but this forum is simply not conducive to "new kit avoidance"
Secondly a big shout to Jake at Vitas. Super customer service, quick response and a top chap.
My research had lead me to a choice between either the TON or the GN1000 and i was lucky enough to see them both side by side at a recent net session. After that i had decided on the GN until Jake posted a pic of the kook - It seemed the best of both worlds and i liked the design. At £50 its not the cheapest but now its here i am very pleased with it, even given the extra price over the GN and the TON.
I have never had a duffle before, it will be my only bag. I'm not a keeper nor an equipment horder so i wanted something that was...
1. Easy to handle in and out of the car
2. Easy to carry when traipsing across car parks and over to our nets
3. Would fit everything in a normal player needs
4. Had small packets for valuables / coins / phones etc
5. Had internal bat pockets (just a personal preference)
So here it is fully packed, lording it up over the retired worm
First impressions are this bag is big. Bigger than the GN and about the same as the TON. Not silly big but loads of space for what i need.
I thought it was going to be a bit more garish than it actually is. To me the colours work really well and combining both the look and feel i would say it comes across as a slightly more premium product that the TON and a bit more interesting than the GN. Of course this is a personal opinion but needless to say i am happy with it.
I like the grab handle on the front as it makes it easy to lift off the floor / out the boot. and i really like the tougher rubberised base the wraps around the bottom.
I'll let the pics do the talking of the various pockets and what i have in them.
Helmet in the front pocket...
2 pairs of shoes
Valuables pocket
Another grab handle
One thing that amazed me was the weight of it compared to my wheelie... man that thing was heavy. This is pretty light but feels pretty well put together... i guess time will tell how well it lasts but for now at least it looks good.
I have one final bit of kit to arrival before i can do a 2015 kit post but a certain pod shaver with a red pen is on the case with that at the moment.
I hope the pics are useful to anyone looking at a new duffle. I still think the GN or the TON are great bags and can be had for great price's but i think this is a great bag and will do me just fine.
