Not much of a review, but figured that I'd share pictures of my latest purchase!

Lately, I've been a bit busy, so haven't thought too much about gear, but when I saw this thread: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=33113.0, it's safe to say that BAD (Bat Acquisition Disorder) Chad resurfaced during exam period. I've been a big fan of B3 for a while now, I wasn't too warm to them at the beginning, thanks to me somehow getting the idea into my head that machine made bats are inferior, but safe to say after seeing quite a lot and using a couple, I'm converted! Anyways, the bat was paid for yesterday morning, and arrived sometime this afternoon, and is just massive! It weighs in a 42.99oz - 2lb 10.99oz, and has the new styled textured and embossed stickers. They really do make the bat stand out more, especially in flesh, and look amazing.

The new one is the one with the purple embossed stickers, which are lovely, the blue one is the old Mull profile, the green one is an unknown profile, which is a full profiled one, but isn't quite a DB2, but seems more like a full profiled DB1 or DB3, and the black one is a BAS which I got rehandled.





Now I figured I'd compare both the Mull and the Mullanator profiles:

Comparison with a Salix Torque Performance, which weighs exactly 42.99oz as well, and isn't a small bat:




An SF at 2lb 9.61oz and a Kangroo at around 2lb 11.5oz:







It's hard to compare spine sizes by showing toe up shots, as the bow of some bats make some seem larger than they should. (Salix spine height looked the same size as the Mullanator, as did the Kangroo, but both are more bowed and have smaller spine heights) As you can see, the sheer volume of wood in the bat is impressive, and it's pretty amazing that they've managed to keep the weight at 2.11 for this one! Compared to the old Mull profile, (I think it was made from a 368 cleft) you can see that the spine peak is roughly the same, but there is a fair bit more wood around the hitting area in the new profile, as well as just a touch more concaving. (Could just be an illusion created by the higher spine) Really like both profiles, and I can see why Mull was so happy with the new one!

Anyways, it's getting pretty late, and I wasn't planning on sharing this at all until later on in the weekend, but seeing as I'm so happy with it, I thought I'd share. Excellent bats, I've been so impressed with the performance of my B3s, even though they are only 1 stripes. Going by how this bat taps up, I'm almost sure it will make it into the kitbag!

It's gone down a storm has this profile wish there was a 2-7 one avalible really nice proifle.

Can the profile just sort of be shrunk a bit to make it lighter or would it require a redesign?

yes we can bring the size down 1mm all over per 1 inch mate if that makes sence.

This proilfe is made with oversized clefts so it may bring it down into the rehlms of normal clefts if we brought it down a few mm or a lower density oversized will bring the weight down yet keep the same size.

How would you describe the pickup for the beast? Based on that profile id assume it pings an inch from the toe to well above the stickers. How good is the pressing?

Yeah, the Salix and Kangroo are by no means small bats, but their spines aren't quite as big, yet when you lay them side by side, they look the same size! (Mullanator has a good 5-10mm advantage over most bats in my collection I would think) I like how the edge and spine profiles have evolved slightly from the older Mull profile, with more mass in the hitting area, but still maintaining the lovely pick up with the good shoulder size and spine running to the handle.

Pick up is lovely and balanced, comparable to the Salix at the same weight. You can tell it's packing a punch, but it's very maneuverable. The pressing is lovely, some might say a touch hard, but I like the way B3 press. Makes the bat feel like it's almost ready out the packet, and packs a real punch, so they're doing it right!

Our press is stiff as Chad says many of you use another machine makers bats who press all the same we do not.

We are not trumping our pressing up it has gone through evaloution and testing to a very high level to get it where it is.

Through Streaky advanced experiance and williow know how i say our press now has evolved to almost "ready press" if you want seam marks you will not get them if you want dints you will not get them. Our press is stiff and each blade is pressed accordingly to it needs to get it almost ready to play where only the edges and toe need doing really.

I think we have evolved the pressing process when your hear our bats they are stiff and they go well from the off.

Chad. Lovely example. I love mine.  Pick up and performance is great.

As for b3s pressing. I've stopped knocking them in.  Performance without damage seems to be there out the packet. I like that very much

I'd have to say that my experience of this makes me agree. When I wasn't getting seam marks on the face of my Powerbow copy, I thought I'd just take it to nets and it performed admirably (as those who had to bowl at it will agree), and I had to do almost no knocking in. Big fan of the pressing!

Very kind words i have passed them on to Streaky the truth is the same effort goes into our 1 stripes as it does crowns to get the very best out of ever individual blade.

It not marketing it not spin it has been proper hard work by the lads and where glad people are happy.

The SF does look nice as well.
