Which Bag? M&H or Aero?
« on: February 09, 2015, 09:26:35 AM »

Hi Guys,

Having a bit of trouble choosing a new bag.

I am torn between the M&H T1 Bag and the Aero Tour stand up bag

has anyone any experiences with either or both bags?

I currently have the M&H Distinction wheelie bag which I have had for 3 years starting to look abit tatty now and with a growing amount of kit might be abit small now

Thanks

I had the aero one, build quality was terrible for the price. It fell apart after half a season and didn't house nearly as much kit as other bags its size could.

I haven't had any experience with M&H ones but they have pretty good reviews on here. I currently have a Salix Pod Pro which is in immaculate condition 2 seasons in, but it's not a stand up so might not be what you're looking for. Might be worth looking at the Salix Pod One? Many people on here would vouch for the quality of Salix bags in terms of durability and functionality.

I ditced the salixpod 1 for a m&h t2, 2-3 seasons ago. M&H is a great quality stand up bag.

Haven't got any experience with the M&H bags but they look fantastic, I've got the H4L stand up bag for this coming season, seems great so far but obviously can't vouch for it's durability yet!

I have an M&H duffle and it's pretty good build quality. I think the @Blank Bats  bags are made at the same place and much more wallet friendly.

I had the M&H one in its previous iteration, in that lovely beige colour. The build quality was fine - lasted fine and had zero problems with wear and tear. The only issue I had was that it's a pain to load. With a rather narrow opening it can take some careful positioning to get everything in, especially if you have more than one set of everything. I didn't and still had to carry my bat separately.

In the end i went for a GN1000 duffle and, build quality issues aside, it's a much more practical bag.

I've got the T1 ready for the new season. Very early days for mine but seems to be a quality bit of kit if you can pick one up at a decent price

I have all M&H kit so I am thinking I stick with them for my bag but the Aero has the compartments which I feel would be more useful so I am not sure.

+1 for the M&H CK duffle, mines a season old and structurally in the same state as I bought it. It comfortably fits all my gear in and stands up straighter than Nelsons Column. The only thing it's missing IMHO is a valuables pocket, which the new Kook duffles have.

Don't understand why people are commenting about duffle bags when the original question was between two big stand up bags ?

There is a thread already on the Aero Tour bag. Might be worth its 670th view. http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=32412.msg509931#msg509931

thank you for this I will

interesting to read the comments my fav was "I had one. This bag WILL make you the most unpopular man in the dressing room!"

I guess that is the trouble with such a bag

I remember that comment. Perhaps people won't want to give you a lift, and it won't fit in a small car boot. It fits in a golf side ways. If you don't have a coffin its good for international travel and protects the bats well enough with careful packing. Last time I went thru I got it wrapped in cling film because some kind soul stuck something through the mesh airvents, and it looked like it had been dragged down the runway on its back! Not sure if it was build quality, unrealistic expectation of something so fully packed, or mishandling to be honest. As a stand-up bag of significant proportions it is handy to keep a lot of stuff in (which pleases my wife because there is rarely any straggling cricket materials not in the kit bag, tho on match days I do thin out the 7 bats, 3 pairs of boots, 3 pairs of gloves, etc, to just what I need). Because it stands up you need to pack it differently, and it is a bit slower than a holdall where you can chuck everything in willy nilly. Standing up means a small foot space in the dressing room floor, and you can still stand other things on it, or lean on it. Not sure you could blame a bag for being unpopular though☺. May be the best solution on this forum is to have a giant bag such as this for storing and touring, then a smaller matchbag?

Or get a giant bag, put a lawnmower engine in it and drive it to games!  :D
