@Wjpn

The Ecb have a tendency to think. "Hmm that, kid is awesome, let's ignore him for the next 24months, and if he's still performing, we'll let him carry the drinks till he's out of form"
"Right now he's not played a game for 6 months merely netted and carried drinks let's give him a game"
"What he failed? Proved we were right not to pick him 30months ago, let's stick with the good old boys instead"

Currently, england are struggling because the strategies used by our bowlers aren't up to scratch, they don't bowl with passion or aggression.
Furthermore, number of batsmen in good form? Probably only joe root? Possibly taylor excluding his kiwi innings.
So why are inform players been left out? Ali made a big impact in Sri Lanka, but really just hasn't sustained it, he was a bunny to the short ball, it's well know that he can't play it, he takes it on, but there is little control, so why is he being selected as an opening batsman if that's his weakness?? It doesn't make sense, sure, he adds an aggressive platform and scored at a rate that relieves pressure on his partner, but surely ali's services would be more valuable down the order? Hales hasn't set the world alight this season, but he was consistent at the top of the order making big runs for notts, he is more than capable against the short ball, is aggressive and a big game player...
