Our Youth/Small mens ones measure 39cm from instep to centre of the knee...and as luck would have it are for sale at just £28.50 inc P&P on eBay in either Elite or Premier model ;)

I'm 5 foot 9 and use men's pads. However, I don't use a thigh pad so the slightly extra height helps. I think a lot of it depends on the length of your lower leg so that your knee is centred on the knee bolster.
Use whatever suits you and you feel comfortable with. Try on a few brands and see as they will differ slightly. Avoid any pads with long straps though.

Thanks bro, but trying on various will be a problem though as I live in Trinidad.

Thanks for the replies guys. Seems as though the tendency is for small men's/Junior pads. Strongly considering the ayrtek ones from ebay. Will update once I make a decision. Thanks again.

Some of the Indian brands fit a little smaller than UK brands.

My SS pads are mens but fit like small mens which is perfect as I am of perfect height (5ft 8ish).

I wouldn't be against Youths sizes though, you don;t want large pads restricting running or movement

Thanks for the advice. The youth pads that I have, are actually a pair of SFs given to me by Lendl Simmons, so I don't know if this is one of or all youth SF pads fit the same, but the fit was good. And as you said is certainly not very restrictive.

@ilanz_bess sorry to hijack your thread.

I thought it would be better if i just ask my question here rather than opening a new thread.

What are the lightest moulded small mens or youth pads? I had a set of SG Maxilite that i just handed to a team mate as they seemed too wide at the top and a bit too large for me as I'm only 5' 6".

The weight and the fact that they wrap around at the top is important to me.

I would appreciate some good recommendations.

I have the GN Powerbow youth size introduced  a few seasons ago the ones with  black yellow and white straps they seem to be of foam construction they are the lightest ones i have come across managed to get a new pair at a discounted price  in January.
Also find youths are easier to run in made up the difference inprotection  by cutting a large thigh pad to cover exposed areas

Thanks for the tip. How are they are they compact in terms of profile? And what would be the estimated weight per pad?

I've sent a PM to @Aswani Cricket  to see if they have any Aswani Zero available in youth size.

Any feedback and Help i can get choosing the pads would be great as I already sold my existing set and really need to get one asap as I hate using the team pads during nets.

I've just read your post and weighed each Powerbow  GN 500 pad and taken a measurement each pad weighs 1lb 3 ounces or 510 kg the youth pad measures 16 inch from the pads instep to the middle of the  pads knee roll the pads are narrower and less bulky than other pads i have.
If you require any more infor just ask.

I'm 5' 7' I've found Youth pads for most brands is the best thing to go for. The brand I tend to use for pads is Puma and the Small Mens is just 1cm bigger than the Youth so really better off going for youth if you're 5' 7'. If you're 5' 9' then Small Men's would probably be better as you're knee should be fitting comfortably in the knee support within the pads.
