Colin Graves said he doesn't rule out Pietersen return.

Interesting.

Must read this.

Hopefully he pushes england to be were they should be in Odis. Somewhere in the 20teens as opposed to the mid 90s.

Said he's gotta go and play county cricket somewhere, I'm not convinced that'll happen though would love to see KP be but would he return be a short term fix merely papering over the cracks?

I bet Alastair Cook's face was a picture when he heard this...

Cook is not in the ODI squad, so it won't matter what he thinks.

Graves said there was a good test squad so I think he wants him back in ODIs only.

Short term fix isn't always a bad thing. If he puts the graft in and prove he wants it then why not.

However, I think Ali, Taylor, Root are the future of 1,3 and 4 so KP could come in at 5 supposing Hales is opening Morgan at 6 and Buttler at 7.

Or he bats 3 and leave Taylor at 6?

Whatever it is he should do it for the team, I don't think he should come back and move someone from their best position as we will have the same issue in a couple of years when we have to replace him (again).

Wasn't part of the issue a few years ago that KP only wanted top play tests and T20 and wanted to give up ODIs?

But it's great news of your and England fan and believe you pick your best 11 players and the the World Cup has confirmed in terms of talent and effectiveness there isnt a player except Jo Root who is fit to
Be in the same bracket as KP.

I think the press have got 2 and 2 together to make 5....there's still no chance KP will play for England no matter how badly we do at the world cup. theres no space in the test team, we hardly play t20 internationals and he's already asked to miss one dayers when he was contracted as they were not important enough to him
the irony of that now is not lost on us fans :)

As much as I would like to see him back in an England shirt, it ain't gonna happen.
There's no place for him. The ecb will make sure of that
Mighta been different if he could 'throw' a cricket ball down at 150kph.
He doesn't need to play for England, his profiles more than big enough to earn the contracts in t20 comps.
As has been said previously , if he had wanted to prove his worth of an England spot, he would have persisted at Surrey and scored runs

Looks to me like another plea to be liked from Graves. He said its up to the selectors, and they've been pretty clear on it, so he's just pointing out its not him who's stopping kp.

Graves though is not a man to care overly about being liked - bear in mind this was a guy who called his entire first team squad out in public...

exactly SLC. Graves clearly has a lot more about him and god knows the ECB needs new ideas and reform

but he won't overrule the current selectors,KP can meet them all he likes but it's time to move on.
