Duck Bills are the fashion this year, I doubt many players actually care about the shape but rather it just pings all over the bat, I know Ben Stokes said he doesn't matter where and what type of bat he uses just as long as its got a massive ping.

In truth they have always been there but the new flat toe modern duck I would say around a year to 18 months it has been popular.

Kranzbhuler was the starter of this version but there are many different versions

I knew they've been around for some time but everyone's just talking about them nowadays, obviously being a bat maker yourselves you'll know stacks more knowledge than little old me haha. I'm also guessing you know more about Ben Stokes than you're letting on, care to tell what he really wants in a bat?

No harsh feelings?  :-[

Ehh ???

Never been called a bat maker pal harsh feelings about what mate.

Nope was interested in what stokes wants as in a bat pal that's all.

They always been around have ducks just not the flat bottomed flat toe ones.

For instance look at Steve Smith his is different to all others.

Sorry if you thought I was being a bugger I wasn't mate

Haha sorry @procricket B3  just a little forum misunderstanding.

I just remeber he done a TV piece about bats and remember he loves a bat that pings and shape doesn't matter as much.  :)

I know, we get that all important 300 then we're unable to defend it, coming into this World Cup I thought the bowling would be the better of the two but clearly not however I feel our comments are best placed in another thread, I dont want to ruin the original post with tales of woe from our Nations team haha

Haha I'll be honest I bought it on the size of the sweetspot rather than the shape.

Story time!

I'd always fancied a chase 175 so saved a months worth of wages from my part time job and went off to Dummer.

They had 2 bats in stock that took my eye, a 175 finback (big edges, high spine and the concaving made a fin on the back) or a 175 Beluga (traditional shape for English pitches)

I took a mallet and unscientific ally tapped both and the Beluga had the larger sweetspot, so naturally I bought that one!
