Thoughts?  Opportunity for someone to steal a march on the big guns?

I prefer the title of this subject  :)  Plus I'm more looking at whether companies will be looking at this.

Tom Aditek - have you any plans?

anonymous concept I was shown before the World Cup ;)

I saw a concept for that sort of thing a couple of weeks ago.

Did it look something similar to this?

Can't remember which recent World Cup Match but saw a batsman turning his head completely around to avoid a bouncer/short pitched ball.. my heart was in my stomach for a second or so and from memory I think the ball just missed the back of his neck/head somehow.

It was obviously an instinctive move to not being hit in the head but it made me think that batsmen can't have confidence in their helmets and/or front grilles to turn their head in such a way. It's not something anyone would train for unless someone fancied testing their own helmet against a bowling machine for the sake of the forum.. :D

I think the Gorget will be available soon but will probably develop over time before something that looks and feels comfortable comes along. Who knows what the Aero version will look like considering all their other designs of protective gear.

I must admit, i think it's a good idea, but why does it need to be a grille? Not like you need to see through it! Masuri have brought the back of their lid a bit further down with the Vison series, so they're moving in the right direction.

I'm guessing the grille is more for ventilation than anything else.
Masuri had a new High Density foam thingy that was on the news the other week. That would be in contact with the back of your head, and would be like an oven compared to a grille I'd imagine

Wasn't a grill used due to a friend being a metal worker and so being a cheap way to put the coat hanger design in to production?

That and it allowed the head to breath better.
