Not sure about SS, never like their shapes or feel.

Who cares about shape of feel when they look this dreamy!  ;)

I would say my Aldred players,, is very similar to my old laver.
I can't praise Paul and his batmaking skills more highly, and I'm sure if you got a bat from him you would not be disappointed

@WalkingWicket37 I'm surprised with your grip OCD that you are happy to allow your LE grip to be slightly wonky. Poor show that chap!  ;)

You'll have to show us your 1000 when you get it as 36.20 is worth a punt just for the stickers alone :)

LOL.

To each their own, I guess. I would rather have an amazing feel when the ball pings off the bat. For the price, my Aldred is performing like a champ!! People who have tried my Aldred, love it and some of them even own "dreamy" stickered SS bats.

I sometimes feel Paul doesn't get enough credit for the quality he produces.

His butterfly bats are one of a kind!

It's not wonky, it's artistically applied! It's perfectly level and at a 90 degree angle at the top and base of the handle.

You'll have to show us your 1000 when you get it as 36.20 is worth a punt just for the stickers alone :)

Don't you worry, I'll get pics up when it arrives. The postage is almost the same price as the bat, so it's worth ordering a few other bits to make it more cost effective (that's my excuse anyway!)

It's not just the stickers, the grains are lovely on those two bats as well!  :D
As for performance, I've never used an Aldred so can't directly compare, but if you want bang for buck (or ping for buck, if you prefer) I've found SS are right up there with anyone, and not only their top of the range sticks either.

^ Like I said, I tried SS in the nets, I did not like how it felt. I don't like their shape either.
