Looking to buy a new cricket bat
« on: April 04, 2015, 08:54:56 AM »

I have a good collection of bats from B3, LAVER & CA. But I am considering especially SS, Salix & Aldred (secondary option).
Recently I came across a guy from cricmart.in who are offering some amazing hand picked willows and I am tempted by their prices.
The new SS which has the new stickers (Master) looks tempting but I am really confused. Hoping for some positive replies. Thanks.

Is @swat paying you commission or something @WalkingWicket37 haha  :D

For every Master sold you get 10% off your next order?

No mate I've gone down to a 1000! For the price you can't go far wrong (the master stickers look so nice I'd probably be tempted by a fence post with them on though haha)

I have been blown away by their (SS) harrow size bats too!

40mm sizes with 2.6 weight. I guess better than buying a CA which is shorter in length compare to standard size. Again, personal opinion and may differ from CA lovers!

What's the face width and height of the blade on that bad boy?
I'd imagine that will excite any vertically challenged members!  :D

I wouldnt know the exact dimensions but its roughly 1 inch shorter than adult size and probably few mm in width. Blade on its own is roughly few cm shorter than adult size.

Really exciting for those who experiment!

Anyway, joy i have a team member who has Salix POD and it has served him well so far. I wouldnt think you will go wrong with any from the list to be honest. That said I am biased towards SS  :D

If you don't have an Aldred yet, I highly recommend getting one. It is a joy to play with!

Not sure about SS, never like their shapes or feel.
