Is this dead?
«

One of the lads used this in the nets yesterday and went after a wide yorker, last delivery of his session. Couldn't believe it, he was dispatching everyone to and over the boundary! The bat sounded fantastic.
I'm not expecting that this is repairable but if one of the bat makers on here thinks they can that would be good! Pics below
Thanks

An opener for the 2nds, I'm not kidding Dave he was smashing everyone all over! It was one of the firsts opening bowlers who was obviously sick of fetching the ball so gave him a wide yorker. He was obviously thinking the way he was playing that he was gonna send it to the boundary as well but only succeeded in breaking the bat!!

I did actually think that at the time, it would need a good 2 inches off so would need a re handle so it's got SH length. Then there's the balance to consider

I don't think it's worth going to the trouble of repairing as the damage is substantial
cannot see any repair lasting long also the damaged part will not play like it did before it spilt.

agree about no guarentee about any work lasting long in the area but sorry performance out of the toe not many bats go well from there but the rest of the bat will perform the same.

It's gonna depend how far any damage has gone up the bat
Fair play if that can be repaired to as good as new
Sounded like it was going well before it broke

Get some glue in it and clamp it up. You're not loosing anything by trying.

I had a remarkably similar break that
@Ryan
fixed over the winter, and that's still holding up just fine after winter nets.

It's hit and miss with that kind of damage. Just make sure you get lots of glue in there.
