Another one of my finished Robert James bats
« on: April 26, 2015, 07:58:34 AM »

I was asked by a friend to make him a bat based around a Sachin style. From researching his bats he's used and kind of having an idea of the profile he used and the requests my friend wanted I got to work. Obviously I'm not saying this is his exact specs etc and how he had them, but as pretty darn close as to it I could get.

Specs
Weight 2.13.3
Edges 47mm
Spine 60mm
Minimal concaving
Rounded pressed face with no bow.

It's a monster of a bat, but the pick up on her is light considering the weight. To me she doesn't pick up bottom heavy. The ping is just incredible. I wouldn't want to be fielding when he comes in let's put it that way.

I like to know your thoughts as all ways as I look to improve on my making.

Thanks northern monkey. It's taken me ages to find a balance between design that is classic, vintage yet has a modern approach.

Great work Rob, I think the stickers are real improvement. Bat looks a monster, bet it flies.

I got smashed around by a couple of your bats last weekend playing against Mattishall, sounded and performed very well.

You should be making a lot more bats mate. I have tried many bats in last 2 years and keep going back  to yours as my main bat. Like others don't  get too carried away with stickers  decals etc..your current branding is very good. Keep the focus on bat making and all the best.

The ping on this one is incredibly good. Hardly have to hit it.

Thanks mate. Yea the Mattishall boys have been good help with testing bats out. Gordon's bat is an absolute gun. Made specially to the way he plays.

Thanks palmist. Glad she is still doing me proud and scoring you lots of runs. etarting to make more but getting the time to fit it all in is the problem. Keep me update with how you get on with her though.

Thanks. It's been months in the making getting the finish perfect. Tried different ways of sanding and tools.
