« on: May 05, 2015, 09:29:22 PM »

Long time forum reader, first time posting. Following is my bat collection for the 2015 cricket season. I like clear faces on my bat, no heartwood (personal preference). :)

2. SS Master 9000- weight (2 lb 8 oz with 1 grip) 41mm edges with no concaving.
3. SS Maximus - weight (2 lb 8.5 with 1 grip) 41mm edges with slight concaving.
4. Ton Reserve Edition - weight (2lb 9 oz with 1 grips) with 44mm edges with no concaving.
5. Slazenger V12 - weight (2 lb 10 with 1 grips) with 39mm edges and no concaving.
6. Kookaburra Ricochet Players - weight (2 lb 7 oz with 1 grips) 39mm edges with slight concaving

Cracking collection, some serious willow there.

Good to have you on board :-)

How do you find the Ricochet? I've started using a 2.7 one and love the pickup and bat speed. It's quite hard pressed and the toe is dead as a dodo but I'm getting quite attached to it.

Thanks James. Yes the ricochet is a very light pickup, its good for bouncier tracks and you are absolutely spot on, the bottom is DEAD!

Maximus and master.. You an SS guy?(not the nazi variety haha)
How do the two compare, was planning on getting one.

PS. I'm a no heartwood guy myself.. Give me a shiny white bat anyday.

Haha i have been following the forum for a long time now so trust me this collection has quadrupled and thinned over years. These are the ones that I am sticking too for this year :)

Yup some big bats for sure!! And this is my first time using SS bats so I kinda went overboard with acquiring almost all the top range haha. Out of the two pictures the Master has a better balance and ping as well, the maximus is no inferior but i prefer the master 9000. And yes i have had bats with heartwood but i try to an extreme not to get any heartwood in my bats  :-[

Those Sareen bats are pornographic! Everyone knows about my love of the Master range and the other two are beauties.
The rest of your collection isn't half bad either, but SS is my favourite brand (at the moment)

The more I see them posted, the more I find myself wanting a Maximus! Lovely stickers and I'm yet to see one that's not made from a decent bit of willow  :)

I am going through the same phase where I am in love with new SS bats and profiles. While getting these bats I actually went through many of the pictures you posted as well so that helped the decision making hence I partly blame you for me ending up with 3 top notch SS bats  :D

Some lovely looking bats mate, i'm a real fan of the Masters and the Maximus shapes and you got a couple of beauties there.

Interesting range of weights as well - 2 7 up to 2 11 - is that to cater for different pitch conditions, or do they have different shapes and pickups meaning they actually feel roughly the same?

Would be great to see a profile shot of them to see the shapes.

Thanks,

Yeah man can't decide between the two! Better balance, so is the maximus more toe heavy or something?
As you said both look amazing
