There seems to be a lot of speculation - suggesting some things that are or aren't being said. everyone is complaining that the ECB are stuck, yet they have got Graves and Strauss in and rid of Moores. What more do you want? I guess they could just disband England cricket in total?
One step at a time.
I bet the reason why Vaughan didn't get the job is because he'd want KP. Maybe Graves is being out-voted as he backed KP when he didn't have to. He spoke with him and said play. Graves is the sort of guy who wants the best, no matter what.
Whatever happens, and whatever decisions are made. They should give an explanation why they have made the decision they have.
I'm not against KP, I think he'd do well. You cant drop Ballance or Root, Bell is doing okay but is the one who is most "at risk". There's no point opening with KP when there are more deserving characters (Lyth). He could bat at 6, but that would mean just 4 bowlers and Root as the part timer.
There is definitely a worry that it is becoming too Yorkshire focussed. Maybe why Cook is continuing to be captain. You can see it happening though.
Graves (chairman), Gillespie (coach), Farbrace (assistant) and Root (captain). Then Lyth, Rashid, Plunkett, Ballance, Bairstow, Brooks, Bresnan all being in the selectors minds. Slot Vaughan in to Strauss' position and you could move it to Headingley.
