« on: June 05, 2015, 01:53:24 PM »

This popped up on my Facebook feed.

Awesome trick to apply a grip without a cone.

I tried this once and it went horribly wrong, and made a lot of mess with bits of carrier bag all over the place!

He does make it look real easy haha, i'll stick to my trusty cone :)

No trick used to see it done quite a lot in the early 70s before everyone acquired a bat cone.

I have only seen this work for the first grip being applied - think it is much harder (impossible?) to do if you want to put a second grip on top.

A tip for the second grip, is to use two bags. It worked for me (using freezer bags) I find that the grips arent streched at all using this, contra the cone.

A-ha! I ended up using a vacuum cleaner tube as a bat cone for the second grip. Will try out your idea next time!
