Evening all
Here is my new stick, a birthday present from me to me! I had some store credits on the account I purchased this bat from, and my SS LE is starting to feather and crack, so I wanted to have a replacement waiting in the wings.
It is/was an SS premium, it is in that lovely full profile SS are making this year. As soon as the bat arrived I removed the edge stickers and the Premium sticker, the gave the bat a coat of oil. Since then I have also replaced the factory grip with a white ripple and added an extra half layer of thick binding to the bottom of the handle. I have made a start knocking this bat in, so it will hopefully be match ready in the next few weeks.
Being a lower grade bat she isn't a stunner, but for £65 posted (less the value of the cricmart.in store credits I had on my account) I'm not going to complain, you could even call it a bit of a bargain.
There are 7/8 (one being right on the edge) mostly even, almost straight grains and a handful of blemishes. I personally like the look of this bat, but I can see that it won't be everyone's cup of tea. It has character, but isn't one for you clean face fans.
The vital numbers.
Spine height: 60mm
Edge size: (41mm before rounding) roughly 39mm now
Concaving: very light
Scuff sheet: none currently, but I will apply one once I have knocked the bat in.
Toe guard: none present, once knocked in I will apply varnish to the toe.
Weight in it's current state:
this if for you to guess 2lb10 dead. Well does to Swat for guessing
And as the forum rules dictate, here are the pictures to prove that the bat exists!
