New Helmet..
« on: June 29, 2015, 02:16:17 PM »

Im looking to buy a new helmet as i stupidly smashed mine on Saturday after getting out  :-[
Ive always used an old style masuri helmet, so im currently torn between a new style masuri with the 1 bar (unsure of the exact name) and a shrey, what are peoples opinions on these two which has the best visability? Ive heard on here people say they just couldnt get on with the new masuri helmet etc?

Or if anyone has an old style one let me know!

I would personally go with Shrey as they are much lighter in weight.

Both models have the grill fixed in place and like previous comments the Shrey is defo lighter but I would go find a shop which stocks both and try them on yourself.

I'm getting a new Masuri plus stemguard from Jake at Vitas.

I don't care about the weight, I want to be as safe as possible  :-[

Passed the same test pal

I have tried them both on I use the Masuri for one side I play for good helmet no doubt but heavy and I do struggle with it the feel.

The Shrey air was Much lighter but I felt the view was not as good.

Guess as somebody has said best to try on and adjust really.

Not convinced by them personally pal.

But I think lids are more personable than any other bit of kit you got to feel it feels right

I've got another piece of protective equipment to protect "that little peanut" mate, and I'd rather you didn't let everyone know I called it that!  :D

Convinced or not there will be something there that claims to provide additional protection. It may be a placebo, but it will make me feel more comfortable if nothing else.
Did I mention that I'm scared of the ball??  ;)

I'm in need for a new helmet this coming season and the only real way to know which helmet is to try them on and see how they fit and feel.

I haven't really paid much attention to helmet prices but they seem to have gone up substantially since I last purchased one.
