Sorry to see people not giving England a chance. They are a young and amazingly talented team (I keep saying that). England takes the Ashes 3-1.

Is there a prize for getting it spot-on accurate? I will watching tomorrow morning with a nice big brunch as England prove me right. Mu-hahahahaha.

All that will give is 3-1 after four games. You'll have to wait till after the oval to clam that prize...

I think the real question is going to come in relation to the Aussie quicks. If Johnson is able to bounce half the England team out purely through fear and the others are able to adjust length appropriately, then it could turn into a drubbing. As ever these days, winning the toss will be crucial.

For the first test, Jimmy and Moeen to bat out the last session on Sunday session to salvage a draw....

Mitchell Starc to be the leading wicket taker for Australia, with Lyon coming a surprise second; Mitchell Marsh to tear his hamstring and not be able to play the entire series (if he gets selected). Steve Smith to score the most runs for Australia.

Jimmy to be the leading wicket taker for England, but there will be a devastating spell from Broad in at least one of the tests; Stokes will have a Botham '81 match, probably at Trent Bridge or Edgbastond; Root to be the highest scorer for England. Moeen to get hit out of the park.
Hmmm. A lot of this is not looking too bad as predictions go!

Completely proved wrong this series. I still don't think it's a good England side but my word Australia have been far far worse than I thought they would be. Where have the test match batsmen gone from the world??

Reading back thru these posts ive never bern happier to be called a 'delusional Englishman' in my life! Haha
I thought out conditions would make it close before the series started, but i didnt expect us to be in this position with one test still to go...
The aussies are not mentally up for the fight on our wickets and ive not seen that before
There's been plenty of australian batsmen ive seen over the years and none of them looked as clueless as this current team.

I don't think even the staunchest English fan could predict this, all the form pointed to a big Aussie win but bar one test we have looked clueless, not bowled to any plans and been dismissed in the same manner over and over again. Well done to England but I have never seen us play this poorly, not even a few years ago after the big change over in players, just dumb cricket.

Hehe.

I will make another prediction (although, I may have said this before) but Ben Stokes will be the next captain, ahead of Root.  :D

What a turn around for Alistair Cook! I wish he'd focus on his batting, he still has a LOT of runs to his name and he can continue to score more. Clarke is out of the picture and it is now Cook who can make record books.

I will be really interested to hear the inside story of the Australian team. Michael Clarke is known to not have had the greatest relationship with some of the players over the years, going back to his run ins with Katich and M. Hussey. I think that coupled with Smith's success as captain in bring the side together and the Haddin situation really had a massive impact on the squad. I know Rogers has said more will come to light after the tour is done and I'm sure it will make for interesting reading.
The aussies thought they would have a walk in the park against the poms but as with most sports if one team is off and the other is on it doesn't take much to have your pants pulled down. Hopefully this series sees the start of a new look aussie team. One that the new skipper can build as his own.
Well played England.

I have just read that a few of the Aussie Wags were having a massive barny for most of the tour!!
I love unapportioned rumours!
