But often these custom companies which you compare evolutuion against will be able to offer a far superior service with regards to bats - do you think you can go to the evolution workshop and get a bat handled, pressed, shaped and finsihed in front of you - Hell4leather, SAF, Redback etc can all offer this service and this is what differentiates them from the hundreds of companies who buy in both bats and softs.....i'd take one of the aforementioned companies over evolution every single time. Every single cricket company gets their softs from a handful of companies in India - therefore variation will never be massive. For me, the bats are number one reason i would go for a brand.....which is the opposite of you procricket.

Yeah totally agree with SS here on this point, my first concern is always the quality of the bat, if im happy with whats on offer I then look/judge their softs. But if their softs are s*** then it normally puts me off the bat as I tend to think one reflects the other.

intresting just shows how uneducated you are about kit.

do you know what my match bats are??????

i would put up my number 1-3 bat against anything you and mike could throw out.

the number 1 bat is made by what some consider the best batmaker on the planet ie James Laver he is not some small time forum guy but hey as you said and made your comments you should understand what bats i use.

and 2 other were made in front of me which as you say is a good thing unless you do not know what your looking for.

but as i have previously said bud the cricket equipment world is much bigger than this forum.

oh and i would take Laver over anything silly you could throw my way in regards to bats.

it's  interesting how some on here knock the new bought in and even some other custom company like solitaire who offer a good cheap alternative you on commmision or something from the other company's.

remember some people can not afford £400 bats i think there are good company's offering kit which is affordable to all.

Salix and Newbery don't make their bats in India, they're made in England with English willow grown in England... Not sure where you got that from mate!

Think he means some of their lower end models which maybe outsourced to India as margins wont be the same on them with people paying a premium for top end bats

they might be. But the fact that we don't have insider's knowledge means that we don't know. I'd still back them to make quality bats, even at the lower end of the scale.

what when you can buy a grade 1 bat for the same price with different stickers?????

all i am trying to say is it is good in cricket equipment  for more suppliers to offer goods at different prices giving everybody a chance to own kit they want not just what you thought was top notch because of some stickers
