Joe Root:

Home average 66
Away average 29

Overrated? Just a bit.

Here we go again.....

Root's away average is 45.69

11 Tests, 731 runs, 19 innings, 3 not outs.

731 / 16 = ?

Brother Aussie in England, we love a bit of banter on the forum, none of it too serious, you're no where near a bad as GerrySA,unless of course it's you under a different name.
According to GerrySA England were going to get murdered in this series, some of us did point out we think in our conditions it might be close, but no,we were shouted down.....
 :)
anyway, from your profile looks like you have 2 teams to support, Kiwi's and Australia.

You can change sides without any loos of face.  :)

Do we take out his runs this current series for the same reason?

Root will be lucky to retire with an average of 45+. He's a typical Pom feast at home and disappear in away Test matches.

Trott averaged 60+ ended up at 44.
Cook averaged 50+ is now down at 46
Balance was 60+ is now at 47

Wood doesn't appear to be a 'tail-ender'.
