Why didn't Rogers get the same ovation?

Yeah great respect from England, good too see...
I was wondering why not the same for Rodgers too..
Clarke has been a very good player indeed,he does look like 115 tests have caught up with him now thou
He looks to have barely any movement is his back

Why didn't Rogers get the same ovation?
Probably because he has played for 10+ years in the ashes and has been captain for most of that. Unlike Rogers.

Only ponting, border and Waugh have scored more runs for Australia.
The Aussies are pretty ungrateful for what they have had. Much like we are with KP.

Not sure which aussies are ungrateful; I'm still a big fan of Clarke, the aggressive captaincy has been exciting to watch and his batting has been excellent up until the last year or so. I personally feel that the people who came out and stuck the boot in as soon as he retired aren't representative of most aussie cricket fans, every cricket fan I know thinks he has done great things for rebuilding the australian team after the likes of McGrath, Warne, Hayden, Ponting, Gilly etc. retired.

Never thought I'd read the words England and sporting when talking about cricket in the same sentence

I've always been a fan of his cricket but his bullish on field sledging recently has dimmed the memory of him. Sad end to one of the last remaining top end test batsmen.. Only Sngakarra left now :(

Might be wrong but I think Sangakara is on his last test currently-what a superb batsman he has been...there's no danger of him being on the slide, we saw in England he is still top class...

Just as an aside also, on Cricinfo there is an article on his practice regime with Paul Farbrace when he coached SL, and the dedication required to reach that level.

And today unfortunately showed that clarke is a spent force and retiring from test cricket was the right call to make.

I am an Englishman, but I sincerely hope Clarke goes out with a big score in the second innings.

Hopefully regal Smith will ride it all the way to triple figures and then have some more luck and get to 200
