Your 2015 Match Bat - How Did it Go?
« on: August 31, 2015, 07:20:38 PM »

As much as I love a brand new pristine bat or refurbished job on here, we don't get to see enough match used bats! (probably due to the amount of bats purchased!)

Considering that the UK 2015 is coming to a close, how did your 2015 match bat fare? Is it still barely used with barely a scuff on it or did it end the season in the bin broken?

I used my 2013/14 match bat for most of the first half the season, then got a new one and used that since. 2013 one is still going strong but just got another RPC custom made.  Both are in fine condition as only used in 40+ over games and no nets

Mine came to the end of its 4th season. It's held up superbly, another 700+ runs with it and lots of net usage. It's nearing 3000 runs with it, an absolute gun. The only downside is an apparent crack in the handle. It may be time to rest the old gal

Here are my two bats used for the majority of the season.

Norfolk Bat has been used for all of winter nets, a dozen or so Saturday games by myself and a teammate and about 6 to 8 LMS season. Highly impressed with my Norfolk and have probably been a bit harsh with leaving it as my reserve/LMS bat. Pings just as well as the Salix, which I didn't think was possible. The bat took very little knocking in and has lasted the season solidly. A bit of glue in the toe and it should be ready to go next season. I haven't decided whether to keep it or hand it over to my brother.

Salix, which I added Newbery Cadbury stickers to, has seen use on Saturday's by myself for probably 8 games with very little success! Had a shocking season with this bat but I still love it. Wipe the cherry marks off the face and its ready to go again. I am worried it might be too heavy after my failures this season.....

A bit of toe damage that happened early season when I tried to smash a full toss

Mine got me all of 4 runs in the three games i've played this season. It's now been demoted to net bat usage, with a like for like replacement coming in as my 2016 match bat, thanks to all the damage it sustained in the nets.

Haven't  played much  this season but had loads of nets with towards late  2014. What was supposed to be a surface crack  looks a lot worse and the crack  in shoulder seems to be going all round.

Shame as it is otherwise a very good bat, I am gonna keep using  it till it drops dead in two halves and have learnt my lesson never to buy a bat with a surface  crack.

Mine was great, B3.  Performed well.
Got 400+ runs (that's good for me) and still looks good, I'm not even going to bother to refurbish it, just a new scuff sheet maybe.
Tiny crack on the toe but nothing to worry about.
I don't use it in nets anymore so I can prolong it's life, also gave me an excuse to buy a net bat (damn this forum!)

played 4 20 over games this year ........

bat went well, I didnt do so well.

6 grainer and it pings exceptionally. Minimal concaving and a sort of flatter toe makes 3lb seem a lot lighter.

Bargain for £150

Dammit I literally cleaned all the cherry marks off mine today haha! Been using a H4L Hellfire Monster this season and it's been incredible, I on the other hand have been awful.

started the season using my gray nics nemesis which i love. i dint score many runs with it and it got relegated to midweek match kit bag.

once i had eventually knocked in my h4l devil i started using it and i havent looked back. i got my 4 highest scores of the league match with it, finished not out in 3 of 5 innings and felt a lot more confident when i was batting. i think i might try an get another one when h4l has a sale

Got back into cricket after a couple of seasons off. Was selling my blank bat but nobody wanted it. So glad I didn't sell it. Was my technique and not the bat that needed changing! Played about 12 games this season and averaging about 35 opening the innings (no not outs).
The bat itself is in its 2nd full seasons use. Boy does it go! Love the shape. Middle is big and at 2lb 8oz picks up like a feather

Now that is a shape I like!!!  And that's 2.8lbs?  It looks meaty for that!  What profile do they call that?
