Nearly.. University, beer and women definitely played their part. Also moving clubs from a batting paradise, to a dodgy north west green top

A lot of GN's cropping up. Does that say something about them?
Lot of GNs but most of them 5 / 10 years back. We do have Jake as the latest entry.

Does that not say more about the age of most members on here though?

It could mean there bloody good bats..... Or merely that more people have owned grays than other bats.

I got my other 2 tons with an oblivion extreme pro too....

I owned a GN because my father said they were one of the best makes, no other reason. I'd imagine their branding sells a lot. Although, the carbo was a really good bat !!

I'm subscribing to the a lot of people have owned them theory.
People who don't come on here will likely buy a bat from a big brand. To most that would be Gunn & Moore, Gray Nicholls & to a lesser extent Kookaburra or Slazenger.
If people bought their bats before becoming a member on here (or before this forum existed in some cases) I imagine they would've bought a bat from one of the bigger brands which could explain why so many first tons were with GNs

In 1991 I scored 123n.o for my dads work team using a Warsop Perfection. A lovely bat which I then ruined by over oiling it.

When I was so much younger. The Internet was too new and getting to owzat was impossible. We had 1 choice. A pokey shop in town. That only stocked gray nics, GM and kook. And even then it was only ten bats at a time.
Choice was not great.
