Which bat has the longest middle?
« on: September 22, 2015, 08:35:02 PM »

So lately, whats happening is that I am hitting either the toe or the splice. The sweet spot area seems brand spanking new, which made me think of a bat that has wood evenly distributed from handle to toe. I won't mind too much about edge size.

Or on a second though, a bat that has a super fat toe, thin and lean sweet spot area/edges, and plenty of meat in the splice area - now wouldn't that be an innovation?

The mighty and famous 1271

You could forego the bat, and have a few coaching sessions with the money instead, might find the middle, or atleast closer too?

A good quality well knocked and played in usually works out as having a long middle

I purchased a GM Epic a few years ago and I reckon that profile has the most even spread of wood of any bat in recent memory.

Almost. I'd say the 1271 is slightly better. No concaving.... Amazing! The original Powerbow shape also has a similar coverage...

Mongoose. Done.

On a more serious note, if you're constantly hitting the splice and the toe and never the middle, I'd suggest the bat is not the problem.

I'd reckon the B3 1271 or a Tendulkar shape might come close?

Any convex bat will also have the widest as well.

I think the colour stickers on a Scat were to do with the grade?
I've never owned one (would love to, but probably never will) but I think they have shoulder stamps so you know what shape it is?

Any owners able to confirm?

If you want a bat with a good toe you want This

It flew off the toe, won't help on the splice hitting though, it was a short blade, so you'd be "handling" it.
