Yeah was wondering if the umpire was checking if it was legal! No idea how strictly enforced bat regs are, can Misbah expect a little inspection at the end of play?

Most players would have nudged and blocked in the last over but not Misbah!
Lets get this 100 over and done with tonight!!

Can't imagine captain Cook taking that approach, can you?

Misbah is a legend. To take over from the spot fixing scandal, and to lead with such dignity, poise, and determination takes real character. Who would have thought that Pak would be in the top 3 so quickly. He is a real gentleman and deserves far more respect than he has gotten.

I love Misbah's approach of blocking absolutely everything for an hour or and and then picking an over to smash everywhere. One of a kind! Also possibly quite clever, getting the field nice and close to cut the risk down of going over the top!

About three years ago I had the privilege of sitting at a table with a group of former top level players at a Yorkshire CCC event and Misbah was the one modern player they all seemed to have respect for. He is, as the saying goes, old school. He is also a character - and there are precious few of those left in the homogenised media era!

Have to tip your hat to the ageless Misbah Ul Haq. Had to wait many years to get a place in the Pakistani side and now the wrong side of 40 he's still holding together their batting line up. His destruction of spin bowling is quite staggering.

I might not be appeased (nor he has to make sure I am!!!) by Misbah Ul Haq's batting but his work ethics and persona is something I wholly applaud. I have been meeting Pakistani players almost annually since 2008, I know some personally but amongst all Misbah is one of the most diligent. His commitment and dedication is simply unmatchable. Has great work ethics. To bring Pakistan in top three after spot fixing scandals, he has ensured Pakistan won few lauriers which they hadn't in past nor other Asian teams!
