How much of effect do you think Mahela Jayawardene can have on players? I feel at international cricket, its very hard to coach someone who has played for so long (such as Ian Bell).

Well that didn't go well.

Ali out for 7 runs of the edge

Hales out for 9, runs of the edge

Taylor just inside edged past leg stump to get off the mark.....

I don't expect Bell is the target audience. And I'm not sure the role of Mahela (Colly later) is so much to 'coach' but to mentor as the role name suggests, more giving hints and tips and being a mental coach, as oppose to coaching their overall game, which is Bayliss/Farbrace's job.

Who gives a sh*t?  He didn't get any runs.

Bell to open, Moeen in the middle order, Hales making the Daiquiris

Ali is a very good mid-order batsman who can bowl very well - he seems to be turning into a true allrounder! So he should not be opening at International level.
Hales can open - but is he simply going through a patch of poor form or is he not good enough at International Test level? So the selectors have got to stop ponsing around swapping and changing, and either play Hales for a few Tests t see if it is form or quality that I letting him down! If it's quality then look at a proper alternative, rather than trying Ali and others!!

Ali has shown he can bat as a test match No 8 and is hopeless at the top of the order also he struggles against the short stuff.
Hales is a one day opening pinch hitter at the top of the order he's on the tour to show if he has the skills to open in test matches probably because theirs no one  else around the Counties worth giving a go hope he's given a run in the side and does well but opening is a specialist position.
