There has to be a clear directive from the ICC on overs that have to be bowled per hour/session. This is then reinforced by the match referee and umpires before and during every test.

Penalties? Docked/awarded runs, bans for captains and/or those deemed compliant (e.g. Riaz taking eight minutes. This is an example, I appreciate all teams have done this), possibly series bans for repeat offenders.

In games such as this drawn test, umpires would say to misbah at innings break, we expect to have X time left, you have to bowl Y overs or forfeit runs calculated possibly in the same way DL is.

But there needs to be the will. Slow.over rates and spectators being short changed has gone on far too long.

So - do we think there are going to be any changes for the next test?

I would suggest Plunko for Wood, but that's about it.

Depends on how Wood is feeling as to whether he or Plunkett plays, for the on change I reckon.

Nasser in a blog went from saying the only change he would make would be take Bell out of slip to saying keep him in because his 50 will have upped his confidence and to maybe bring Plunkett in!

Definitely get Bell out of slip, perhaps put Bairstow at 2nd slip? Logic suggests a keeper should make a good slipper? I'd love to see Taylor get a go but barring an injury I don't think he will.

I hear that Stokes is a doubt for tomorrow; could be a place for Patel and play 3 spinners?

Dubai 'should' do a bit more, at least they are expecting the wicket to break up from last weeks M25

I would have Samit in and leave out Wood. And I think it's a close call but Taylor is a better player of spin than Bairstow.rate Bairstow very high but he's a hard handed player and Taylor has a more allround game for these conditions

talking about moving Bell out of slip, aside from Ian Botham have England ever had a better slip fielder(bowler) than Jimmy? he is outstanding....

It'll be the same team, maybe they'll be ridiculous and swap Jordan for Wood

Bell has a stash of incriminating photos of Cook with one of his flock....

Agreed. Jordan has no business being anywhere near the test team. He is an astonishing fielder but isn't a good enough bat or bowl at test level.

Any idea what's up? I just caught the end of Cook on Sky sport news, so didn't quite catch what was up. It sounded to me like he wasn't injured just knackered so to speak.
