Agreed it is a personal thing buying bats, and I do understand where you are coming from. I know a lot of people who import laver bats at high prices. Why do they go there? For the quality of the finished product.

They would go to James Laver for the same reason that they would go to Julian Millichamp (before he retired) - because they are two of the better podshavers on the planet!
As I said, I can fully understand you buying one of these - they look fabulous. But we are saying that there are safer and often better options out there.

Most probably is, but up to now I haven't had a problem. Wish Julian was still making bats as they were absolute guns.

Twas just a point ballinger. Irrespective of the variants, your bat is a master choice. Not a fan of more than 10  grains on a face but when they are that parallel & evenly spaced - it gets delicious. All the very best with it.
& you can relax - both the legacy bats won't stand opposite a reserve edition.

Cheers and yes it will be better than the two legacy bats, that most probably came from India to start with !! Was a good debate anyway

Why wouldn't the TON Legacy bats be as good as the SS Reserve from India? Both from the same factory, and the Legacy Elite Vitas put up is the top of the range as well. Looks pretty much on par on looks too, along with a lovely full profile! I've also been told that SS warranty for the SS bats sold by Cricmart don't cover storm damage, as it is deemed 'An act of God' by SS. (Odd, but all warranties come with their own quirks)

For someone like me, warranty doesn't mean a massive amount due to the ridiculous number of bats I have. (Down to stupidity) I very very rarely break a bat as they're all cycled round. I think I calculated that if I were to use a bat every season from now on, I'd still be playing past 70 without the need to buy another bat!

That all aside, the bat looks like a cracker, hope it serves you well!

I have had 2 TON reserves and a SS players bat so far and all 3 were best i have seen ever. I have owned/seen bats from most of the bat makers here and also from batmakers proclaimed to be best in the world.
Trust me you wont be disappointed. Top of the range SS are worth the money.
I posted the reviews when i got them. -

I'd be all over a sun 100 quid bat from these guys as it's streets ahead of what you can get here, but once you get towards and upwards of 200 I'd definitely be buying elsewhere, if only for piece of mind.

I'm used to sourcing my bats from overseas as I can't get many brands here in oz so it's a no brainer for me. 200gpb including delivery for a superb piece of wood seems a bargain.

Cheers warranties don't mean anything to me either

I wouldn't say they mean nothing to me, but when having a warranty from a local shop almost doubles the price I care a lot less.

i.e. NB DC1080 AUD$370 delivered from cricmart while it costs $660 shipped from a local store (cricket warehouse). Warranties don't do that much, especially considering they only last 12 months.

I have purchased two players bats from Cricmart, 3 B3 crowns and 2 Laver Sigs but never discussed the warranty with either of them. At the end of the day because of my mistake if any of the bat cracks, I would not want to pay high shipping charges back to the vendor rather than get them fixed locally. This is just my opinion.
