Solid argument mate  ???

It still makes him a 3rd tier player, like I originally said. Not good enough to be a first picked player in a FC team...

0/500 is more an indictment on the bowling, seriously Ross Taylor is in to the attack, surely the Kiwis are going to take a practice match more seriously than this?

Edit: Tom Latham, the strike bowler, finally makes the breakthrough

It's all over! Looks like the NZ team have double-declared and players have left the field.

Called off due to pitch conditions. I saw a photo and it was a mess. 500/1 though.

CA trying to organise another game before the 1st test.

So the Kiwis lost to the Australia B team by an innings and 503 runs?  ;)

The pitch did degrade very quickly, but I'm Finch and Carters handled it well enough.

Just read what mcullum said, basically they saw a few balls rear of a length with the new ball on the first nights evening, so chose to not bowl any pace in the morning.
As the pitch went even more South during the morning session, they believed it was both to dangerous and not worth batting on as they wouldn't learn anything

The pitch looked shocking, but don't you normally lose wickets in huge bathes on these dangerous pitches?
Not break records with huge stands?

I think once the NZers realised what the pitch was doing as it deteriorated late on day 1, they switched to slow bowlers.

I put that in the bit you deleted from the quote.

Finch is worse than Ali.. God help test cricket if he is ever even in consideration

I think similar was said about Smith & Warner as well

What I mean is if they were already bowling part-timers and waiting for the 2nd new ball, then the pitch deteriorated, that's probably why they took no wickets.

NZ double declare to end the match, kind of says it all really.

They don't know they're born these professionals!
I've played on worse (and there was a couple of horses stopped played by reproducing in the middle of the pitch that day...)

If you have played on worse than that then I would hate to play at that club on a regular basis.

Think I've played on one or two worse away tracks in surrey champs 3rd xi (I'm sure @FattusCattus would agree), though I couldn't possibly name and shame. TBH it doesn't look too bad so long as you're not a left hander  :)
