we actually discussed this Garrett. a lot of work involved tho. not with foam tho as not sure if that would work with the wood being over the top

@Ryan and @Simmy do you press the back piece as well as the front or is it cut, glue and then press? is there any benefit in pressing both the face of back piece and front piece or none? this method must also allow you to increase the overall size of the bat I presume as far cleft sizes are concerned?

No, they are laminated prior to pressing, glued and then pressed. I don't think you would gain any additional performance by pressing the back piece, it would also make it more difficult to laminate with a tight joint.
