Just out of pure curiosity I am going to try some fairly thick fishing twine have no idea what too exspect

The Australian made Gray Nicolls bats have tape and after using one I felt it gives the Handel a bit more whip

Make sure you use non stretch braid /dyneema and not stretchy monofilament.

What's the difference?
Find medical tape is better for bat handles due to it being easier to work with
Thinner  than Elastoplast  less stretchy  cuts easier and unlike Elastoplast   doesnt lose its stickyness or come loose if your bat handle gets wet
