They showed an interesting pitch map for Rashid. Seemingly he bowled pretty good areas, but it seems there was little margin for error for him

Isn't bowling at the stumps enough for me his stock ball turns away from off stump, by regularly pitching outside the off stump it's removed the chance of a bowled or lbw. Occasionally there is fine as a set up for a googly. He was a threat in the 1st test as bowled at the stumps. It would also make his long hops slightly less of a free hit. He needs to bowl a fraction quicker too, they too much time to play him. Having said all that I like him and there's a lot to work with and as he's 27 he's cos at least 10 years as a top class spinner available to him

I think you've hit the nail on the head there. He doesn't bowl at the stumps and doesn bowl quick enough.
If the ball isn't going to hit the timbers and you have plebty of time, its virtually a free hit at that level.

Roy's technique or lack of exposed (early doors is when you most use technique after all)

Root made an error

Hales awful shot for an opener.. Heaven forbid he plays tests with a technique like that.

Not good for England.

Nice to see Morgan continuing some form, taylor too. Fell for butler this once in fairness but Ali with bat and ball is going backwards

Samit Fatel? Don't believe we've taken a spare spinner, which is bizarre considering we're in the UAE.

Do the England management just get the team to hold out their feet and then get them to shoot them?

The way Vaughn was belting the ball today, he may be your best bet for cooks opening partner

I agree with most of this - i think his average speed is around 48mph which is very very slow, if he could add another 5mph onto that he'd cause a few more problems - similarly, i'd like to see him bowl more of an off-middle line in conditions that spin (moving to an off stump line in those that don't) - for me that would just open up more possibilities

like you've mentioned, he's only 27 so hopefully they invest some time into him and you'd hope he'd benefit from the spin camps they're putting on

Moeen managed to put 5mph on his bowling action pretty easily after starting international cricket. Bring in Kumar Darmasena as spin coach!
