Kookaburra 2016 - Forum Discount!
« on: November 15, 2015, 08:04:36 PM »

Hello all,

We recently had a visit from our Kookaburra rep (and his boss - we must be going up in the world!), and the 2016 images became available after this. We've since uploaded them all to our website, as you can see here, http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/kookaburra-m9, ready for pre-orders.

We will be hand-picking the bats in early December (final date TBC), and expect the softs and bags etc to be with us in the next couple of weeks.

Here is some information about each of the bats for 2016 -

Kahuna - Nothing much has changed too drastically for this year. Graphically it is in line with the makeover the whole range has had, with the Kooks  log centrally placed on the front of the blade. It is advertised as a mid-profile, and in weights from 2'8-2'11. We have the following price points available. The Pro (£424.99), the 2000 (£339.99), the 900 (£249.99), the 650 (£179.99), the 400 (£119.99) and finally the Kahuna Lite, (also £119.99). The Kahuna Lite model is a slightly shorter blade and longer handle, and is available in weights of 2'6-2'8.

See the full Kahuna range here - http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/search/kahuna.

Onyx - The Onyx is very similar to the Cadejo from last year. It has the same high spine, thinner edges and scalloped back, but this season it is in an orange and black colour scheme, and available in much lighter weights (2'8-2'11). Oval handle and a mid-sweet spot, ideal for the faster hand players, the pick up is brilliant! The price options are, Pro (£424.99), 1250 (£319.99), 700 (£224.99), 550 (£159.99) and 200 (£99.99).

See the full Onyx range here - http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/search/onyx.

Verve - Again, nothing major has changed with the Verve for this season except the graphics. The lower middle in the Kookaburra range, with a round cushioned handle, ideal for the bigger hitters amongst us! Weights of 2'8-2'12 are available, in the following price brackets: Pro (£424.99), 1500 (£319.99), 800 (£239.99), 600 (£169.99), 300 (£109.99).

See the full Verve range here - http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/search/verve.

Ignite - The Ignite is a new bat to the range, and is a strongly bowed, light, mid-high sweet spot bat. Thinner edges, and a high spine, along with weights of 2'7-2-9, make this the perfect bat foot player or smaller adult bat. Also has a round handle too. Price point is: 1200 (£299.99), 600 (£149.99) and 200 (£99.99).

See the full ignite range here - http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/search/ignite#page1:infscr1394.

Ghost - Probably the best looking in the range with the stunning all white decals, in our opinion, the Ghost is only available in one price point. Designed to quite simply be a massive bat, with weights starting at 2'9 and going up to 2'13, this is the dominators bat. With a mid middle, and edges of at least 40mm, with minimal concaving, this is a proper tree trunk! The single price point for the Ghost is £199.99.

See the Ghost here - http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/cricket-bats-c17/senior-cricket-bats-c18/kookaburra-ghost-cricket-bat-p1375.

Blade - With brooding all black decals, the Blade is an imposing bat. It has a fully convex, domed profile, similar to the Platinum by Newbery. A mid-middle, and oval handle, means this is the most forgiving bat in the range - the power is still there even if you don't quite middle the ball (a bit like me!). Weights are 2'9-2'13, and prices are £279.99 for the 1000, and £139.99 for the 500.

See the full Blade range here - http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/search/kookaburra-blade.

As a special forum only offer, we are offering 10% off any pre-ordered Kookaburra bats.
EDIT - I forgot to add that this expires at midnight GMT on Friday November 20th.

It is very nice to see Kookaburra offering distinctly different shapes in their range, since we have criticised them in the past about a lack of variety from their bats. We have been so impressed with this range that we have OVER DOUBLED our order from last year - a real sign of our positive response to their new range. We hope you guys will like it as much as we do!

Great stuff! Did kookaburra say that they are not taking showroom visits to handpick bats until December eventhough some retailers are already stocking them because thats what they said to me. I just find that a bit odd.

Yes.  This is just because they are waiting to offer us a larger selection and have containers arriving regularly over the next couple of weeks! Good for us as I'd rather not make the journey up and only have a small choice of bats!

Ah thanks for clearing this up. I will be handpicking a bat from there too.

I agree with that there is no point going to select bats when there are only handful bats in stock. I believe our visit will be in the new year

Was going to ask the same question mate, seeing as Kook are the biggest returned brand to IJC

They "were" the biggest returned brand.  This may change.
