Powerbow 300 - What grade is it?
« on: November 17, 2015, 11:16:27 AM »

This is an interesting one:

The manufacturers in India call it Red willow/poplar (and explicitly state it's not English Willow) in the export documentation

GN sell it in the UK with a grain print face on it, and it's G5 English willow

Who's right?

Interesting, I would have guessed it'd be a sports direct special but your links obviously prove otherwise. I'm surprised the quantities are that low too actually.

Maybe they're English willow nurtured in India? And the description is just a little off?

A company will usually take a few drops of gear, there were more shipped out in October and November.

It could just be a lost in translation thing, or maybe the wrong thing was noted down but after the whole M&H episode I found this interesting.

Yeah good point.

Just had a quick search for 'Poplar Willow' - it certainly exists for lower end bats;

Revisiting this, we now have some of these bats in junior sizes, sold to us as English Willow.

If this size 5 is Poplar then i'll have some more please, stunning for £65 delivered!

That's cracking that, looks exactly how I'd want a blade to look . Sadly at 6'2" I'm a bit big for a size 5.  Very lucky junior getting that one

The nemesis powerbow is its own grade. Same price point as a 4 star.
