It's definitely the right call to ban him as he was clearly chucking but I always found it entertaining watching him bowl.

It was to prevent everyone being banned, they tested a load of bowlers at the time and found the only bowler below 5 degrees was Ramnaresh Sarwan! McGrath was at 11 degrees I think from memory for example and he's Mr textbook, so the rules were changed to say 15 degrees, which is supposedly the point at which the bend becomes visible to the naked eye.

Agree, even Flintoff was over the limit at the time!. Whatever is said about Murli, he's still probably the only spinner to get Channel 4 to test him with slow mo cameras and he/they went at great lengths to explain his issue. Either he has great balls or was simply an unusual case:-
