Bat Refurb service in US - Need Help
« on: November 30, 2015, 03:59:04 PM »

Hi All,
I am located in US and wanted to know if anyone is aware of some good Refurb service in US, or is it worth to send my bat via post to UK to one of the custom bat makers to have it refurbed?

Thanks

Where are you located in the US? There are a couple of shops in NJ - cricmax and bat and ball cricket that do refurbs. If you are up for some DIY, there are plenty good posts on here to guide you from removing scuff sheet to fixing cracks.

I would recommend contacting Richard Blackledge from First choice cricket(also owns Crictech, if i am not mistaken he is cb forum member but rather a silent one). I had my SG bat fixed by Richard. This guy makes his own bats in a workshop based out of Los Angeles/New York (his crictech office address shows 2 locations - LA & NY, so i am not sure where his factory is) and he does offer fair price for repairs.

Repair services and prices => http://www.firstchoicecricket.com/collections/repair-shop

Jason/Cricket Store Online service is top notch but he is a little expensive. I find his customer service top notch in new product sales/hammer cricket services. Refurbs and repairs are generally second priority for him. Just my opinion ... I interacted with Jason to fix the SG bat for which the quoted price was USD 115 for handle replacement plus shipping. Richard did the same for USD 60.

Ha ha..yeah. I bought a H4L Devil towards the end of the season as a back up bat which I am knocking patiently right now. But this bat is a gun that I do not want to lose and keep using atleast for couple more seasons.

What kind of extensive work are you looking to get done? Any damage repair?

There is a guy called Leroy in NJ who does a good job for cheap. I can give you his contact if you need.

I sent my bat to Richard @ First Choice Cricket in December. Having a tough time in getting in touch with him and getting the status of my bat. Havent hears from him yet.
