... even if you don't like me or Paul come for these guys, some free beer, and some quality bats!

I would have loved to hear Charlie French's views on bat-making. Are you stocking them next year? One of my mates lives in Clapham so could swing by and pick up a CF bat as I am in the market.

I cannot attend as midweek combined with it being busy time of year along with commute make it a tad difficult to attend. I don't comment much but drop in to the forum from time to time to see what's new and at present, I am looking to educate myself before I invest in my first bat in nearly 10 years! I saw the MH stuff, which I presume is why you think you're disliked, yet I don't think people on here are that petty to judge you and I can categorically say that I don't think you or Paul are disliked! It doesn't come across that way to me anyway. If people on this forum/thread, read this comment and actually do dislike you because of that then I am sorry but you really need move on and perhaps re-evaluate what's important (and perhaps when next on-line, look at naked ladies on the internet instead of hating a cricket bat shop...)!

I had only really heard of Morrant and Talent before a Google of "custom bat" led me to this forum, handmade brands and other distributors such as yourselves and Vitas, and I can say that I have not been deterred by any of the 'negativity' and would definitely consider popping into your store when in London next! Good luck with the show, and hope you get a lot of local people in for the food and beer!  :) :)

Just a reminded to everyone that this is tomorrow!

Our speakers are lined up, ready to go, our beer fridge is (literally) overflowing, so come on down and stop me and Paul drinking it all! It's completely free, and even if you don't need any kit it's a great opportunity to check out the Platinum Lounge and listen to talks from some special companies.

Foxy will be unveiling some special things as well!

Thanks for everyone who has supported the event, it's been a labour of love organising it - it isn't quite as easy as a normal forum meet up or net, lots of work has gone into it, so the more people who can make it, even for just half an hour or so, would be brilliant!

Thanks again, hopefully see you tomorrow over a cold one,

CBD

Hats off to Paul, Chris and staff for last night's shindig. Where else can you wave around expensive sticks of willow and talk about the nuances of rubber grips, hanker after ergonomic man protection and examine pod shavings with like-minded kit badgers without feeling self-conscious? It was great to finally meet George (the nicest man in cricket), listen to the wisdom of Charlie French, a true old skool master, and to hear about an exciting up-and-coming UK brand in Phantom. I was even sold on the benefits of Grip Grip, the one bit of cricket kit I thought I didn't need. I did leave without a CF stick, mind. Might have to remedy that. So well done chaps. Looking forward to the next one. One tip? More real ale in the fridge! 😀

It's almost like a phantom thread...

People speak of it as if it were real...

Fair enough.   :D

As evidence, I give you a grainy shot of Charlie, and one of his mighty clefts. (Put a grip on it, and I'll take it...)
