trip down to B3 complete and what a great experience it was.
Arrived and its great to see the quality of the bats within the showroom that are available for you to just pick up and swing about, as well as the rack of pro bats that are great to look at as well.
First of all Streaky pointed me in the direction of the DB2, which although being a great shape it wasn't exactly what I wanted although not far off. Plus I wanted to have a look at the bat mapping process just out of interest so we set about mapping my old bat. Within minutes Streaky had my bat up and was making slight tweaks, I wanted the same shape but bigger (My old bat is a fair few years old now). Streaky made a few recommendations all of which made sense to help the pick up and make the bat stronger, it has always had really thin shoulders and was prone to breaking up there. He then gave me the option of focusing on making the edges bigger, spine or both. We finally decided on the shape and to me it looks really good and exactly what I wanted, so im excited to go and pick up the finished article.
It's great to sit there and be able to work on exactly what you want especially whilst being able to questions streaky's knowledge and find out exactly what would work and see the thinking behind every part of the shape and handle as im really picky with my grip set up.
I've left the cleft selection down to streaky himself, just giving him a slight nudge on how id like it to look as I have no doubt it'll perform just fine.
I'd reccomend getting to the factory if you can, its great just to have a look around although I wouldnt reccomend taking any type of card, i also left with pads, gloves and keeping gloves
