I went ahead with the GN SuperNova.

Comparing it with my Kook pro players duffle from last year, I would say the following differences stand out.

1. 3 bats fit in the supernova vs 2 in the kook. BUT, the kook players duffle is so big you can easily fit lots more bats in the main compartment. Watch @smilley792 video on this.
2. The kook pro players duffle is much "fatter". It just bloats out a,lot more. Not really an issue, but it can take up more room in the trunk because of this. Pertinent to note that the new KD 5000 was released as the slimmer version ,so won't be as big an issue anymore.
3. Neither GN supernova, nor KD 5000 have the big mesh side pockets like my kook pro players duffle. I used to stuff sweaty whites in those after games and am annoyed that the feature is missing now.
My plan now is to dedicate one of the supernova pockets (all ventilated btw which is awesome) for sweaty whites...but that means I will be leaving that pocket empty till after the game. KD 5000 didn't offer a good option for sweaty whites (the mesh pocket too small in the new design...though I guess you could make it work if you had too)
4. Shoe tunnel in supernova seems to be strangely located but does the job. I use the valuables pocket (why is ventilated ??) for balls. It actually helps stand the bag up imo.
I might try and put in a cardboard layer in shoe tunnel (in both kook as well as supernova) to prevent the shoes from getting squished - this is a big weakness in all duffle bag designs so far

Plan is to use the supernova duffle on a daily basis, and keep the older kook duffle for storing extra kit (thanks, CBF!) and travel.

I only need the 2 bat compartments, more in need of separate pockets. Got 2 bats, set of pads, set fielding pads, helmet, 3 gloves, usual clothing, shoes/trainers. Chest guard, aero strippers, Then showering bag  that holds extra spikes, tape etc.

A duffle bag will always be centred around a large space in the middle. Many have shoe pockets, and/or a helmet area. But the rest of the pockets are mostly for bits and bobs.

Your batting pads, strippers, fielding pads, chest guard and gloves will always be going in the main central compartment on any duffle bag.

I've got the GM Original. Must admit, was bought more on style over substance. Nice colourway and looks good on the stock pictures. However, unless you've got very square kit, it never quite looks as good as the photos since you've often got one side sagging and another full to bursting.

Still a good bag though, only just big enough for keeping, as a part time keeper I keep my pads and gloves separate as you'd have to unpack and repack everything to get them in and out again.

Always nice to be different though  :D

Slightly off topic, but anyone got thoughts on the Supernova 900 holdall?  More expensive I know, but it does stand up and is possibly better organised
