Newbery Fielding pads
« on: December 22, 2015, 09:26:06 PM »

Has anyone got a pair or used a pair, ive been in the "nutters job" a few times and taken a few catches and also take a few hit but thought maybe the extra protection would help when im between spells.

Obviously they are very effective at international level but not often do i see the same players running around from deep cow to silly leg like you would do down the park on a saturday afternoon.

What is peoples thoughts on using them, ect?

I keep wicket in them quite often. Well, exactly the same thing branded as TON.

Light, comfortable, decent protection. I have quite long shins so they don't cover all of my knee unfortunately

i use them for keeping in also. i do have a similar problem of them not being long enough.

i find them quite easy to run around in and such like. havent used them while being an actual fielder though

I have used a pair under my whites when fielding at "suicidal square leg" and was able to run around the boundary the following over.

The only problem is that if you own a pair people will think your're keen to put yourself in the firing line..

I dont mind putting my hand up for the job. I find it more of a distraction and not many balls come my way off our opening bowler but plans have worked
