His talent is undeniable but his integrity isn't. I wonder if he'll be able to cop the stick he'll get from the crowds

Cricket has moved on alot since then he will be workibg eith psychologists to help him overcome the idiots giving him abuse.

He doesnt deserve any abuse any more he's a talented young prospect that will dominate test cricket. We have all been young and done stupid things. Im sure he regrets it!

Probably a good thing English isn't his first language! Otherwise he'd have to be extremely mentally tough fielding on a boundary at most grounds

Think it's scandalous they have picked him. All for giving someone a second chance in life but international cricket is a privilege and he blew that. Bit more than a stupid mistake it was a criminal offence and he pays the price. What sort of message does this give, yeah do it even if you get caught it's fine because if you bide your time you'll walk back in to the side. Massive slap in the face for other Pakistani cricketers who weren't greedy done everything by the book.

He did it at a young age, anyone that was 24 or older at the time i doubt would be considered now but he is still 23! Give the kid a break, youd be desperate for the chance again knowing you were stil young enough to become a pakistani great

Deserves all the abuse that he will get. I don't buy that he was young and served his time. Still brought scandal upon the game, and plenty of people will feel he shouldn't be allowed back in the game. Free to air their opinions, and if that involves getting stuck into him, then so be it, he made the mistake so must now deal with all it brings

@cricketbadger im sure he will, like any offender of any crime. Do your time and then reflect on that after. Remember he's not the only one to do it... Just silly enough to get caught

I know. Is there many others that have done something similar and are now back playing?  Obviously I'm aware of Asif and Butt, but they aren't and probably won't ever return.

The he's done the time argument doesn't cut it for me. Yes he gets a fair crack at having a life again but international sport is a privelage. There are plenty of other jobs you cant do having been to prison teacher, police officer. Doesn't mean you can't get on with your life though.

I like to think i'm a fair bloke, but in this case there is no way he shouls be near the Pakistan side.

I don't buy all this "he was only 18" crap either. As an 18 year old he was playing cricket for his country (a dream for so many) but he threw this away by getting involved. Young or not you know right from wrong by age 18, and he abused his position as an international player by getting involved in spot fixing.

He is young enough to still make a career of cricket. Let the lying scum bag play domestic hit & giggle tournaments by all means, but after wasting his talent first time round to make some quick dishonest money he shouldn't be allowed to watch his national team, let alone playing for them!

This a disgrace! How dare he serve his time correctly as per the rules set out!

Once time is served he should have more and more punishment attached!! We should make the rules up as we go and extend and add and change as we see fit at the time.

A disgrace I tell you.

I agree to a certain extent. He has served his time I get that.

But should he be allowed to make millions from something that he disrespected and cheated. Personally I think not and I do think it's wrong that he can still be involved at elite level for what he has done. As has been said if you make a mistake as an 18 year old whilst studying to become a teacher and go to prison you can't become a teacher.

As for becoming a great I would like to think he will never be considered a great even if he goes onto become the leading wicket taker of all time. To me he is gifted but like many say at 18 you know the difference between right and wrong and he should have said No and reported others to the team management or ICC

Remember pakistan has a different culture to us english, they usually respect their elders alot more than most modern day 18 year olds
