Would like to win but not that bothered if we don't or if I don't bowl win or lose just want to play an innings whether it's playing for a draw or going for the win

I want to play cricket and feel that it's been worth the match fee and subs, let alone the time it takes up! Never been someone who'd rather make up the numbers to claim success. I'm hoping that being closer to my new club will allow me to take a full role whether that's on or off the field, that unfortunately starting a family and taking on extra responsibility at work meant that it allowed me less and less to do that at my previous club.

I'm joining a new club next season, looking forward to a new adventure so to speak, new people, new beer to drink, a good standard of cricket, and hooefully get me enjoying it incredibly

I moved from a club that was a 3 minute walk from home to a club that's a 10min drive but I haven't looked back really.  Much better group of guys, better social side of the club as well. Maybe if I have kids I'd move back to the old club but it'd be a hard decision to make.  Ive found that no matter how many clubs you go to,  there will always be politics and clique groups

Your right win or lose   playing has to be worth the match fee, subs and time invested On or off the field no good just turning out to make up the numbers  and claiming to be successful that seems shallow win or lose its much  more enjoyable when  we as individual players contribute.

Always admired players in any sport who potentially shunned outright success in a team they were not playing a role in, just to play week in week out.

Anyways it looks like my new clubs nets will be starting soon according to their Facebook page, so the new net awkwardness will be starting soon!

At least you're in a position where you will know the faces of the majority there mate, make small talk about last season, how it went personally, what you'd like to achieve this season coming that sort of stuff. "Yer I've always liked your ground" general stuff. You're in a better position than most with moving but embrace it! Just wish you'd decided to drive an extra few miles to me but understand going there.

Good luck and don't forget to text me letting me know how it went

P.S I'm gutted I'll be missing the game against you :(

Ahead of what should be a first full season with the club I joined late last year, I am twiddling my fingers most days looking at our my emails/Pitchero site keeping an eye out for info on winter nets. I kinda wanna bug the people at the top regarding it but as I still don't really know the team (they're all fairly well knit) it's probably a bit douchey.

Hope to take in a few pointers from the captain as well, kind of bloke I warm to; supportive but will give you a rollicking if you mess up, if only because he likes to win. Remember my first game where he got out early and just heard him effing and blinding in the showers about it, ha.
