Hi all,
Wasn't too sure where to put this...About 15-20 years ago I had a batting training aid (could still do with a few TBH!) and cannot remember what it was called...
A ground peg (3 sided metal loop, like a small croquet peg/hole/goal) was placed just in front of the batsman, with a length of elastic cord attached. The cord then ran under another peg about 6 to 8 feet further towards the 'bowler' (for safety reasons apparently! lol).
The bowler then walked backwards with a rubber ball, with the loop on it where the elastic cord attached. The further the bowler walked away, the more tension went into the cord, and the faster the ball would be delivered to/at the hapless batsmen...!
It was fun but absolutely lethal! No way would it make it through health & safety these days.
Does anyone know what this was called?
Thanks
