You can put cricket balls through Bola machines with no problems, if you are concerned about the effect on bats of the bola ball.

Wears the leather on the balls out awfully quickly though!

I've seen a brand new ball destroyed by a Bola. Looked like my dog had got hold of it after a few rounds through the machine.

Your fog? After a particularly spicy curry the night before I presume?

Well I have a bag of old soft cricket balls and they seem to be ok and lasting fine going through the bola machine.  Maybe because they are Softand out of shape they machine does not affect them so much !!

Does using cricket balls in a Bola do any damage to the machine?

They won't catch us this time! Not this time! They haven't spotted us! No, they're all snoring in their bunks! Or, you know what? They're drinking at the bar, celebrating our sinking! Not yet, my friends. Not yet!

not instantly, but it will wear out the wheels used to spit out the ball.
